CHILDREN'S EYE CARE
It is very important to take your children for eye exams on a regular basis. Pediatric eye care incorporates special techniques and technology to ensure accurate testing and help us accommodate young children.
In myopia, light focuses in front of the retina due to the elongated eye. This causes blurry vision in the distance. Myopia as known as “nearsightedness”, is not only a refractive error, but it is a chronic, progressive eye disease characterized by eye elongation and increased risk of eye diseases: cataracts, glaucoma, retinal detachment and myopic macular degeneration.

ADULT AND SENIOR EYE CARE
Seniors 65 and over are eligible under OHIP for a full eye exam once a year, and for any minor problems they may experience in between. OHIP eligibility is defined by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
EMERGENCY EYE CARE
Our eye doctors have the latest technology and lots of experience with eye infections, scratched eye, something stuck in your eye, painful or stinging eyes and many other types of eye infections.
DIABETIC EYE CLINIC
Diabetes and vision go hand in hand. If you have diabetes, you need to know that having this systemic disease puts you at greater risk for developing vision problems.
Punctal plugs are placed in the drainage channels of both eyelids to reduce the drainage of tears and allow for them to remain in the eyes. It is a popular choice for computer users and allows for the decreased use of lubricating eye drops.
DRY EYE CLINIC
Dry eye syndrome (DES) is a chronic condition that develops when your eyes do not produce and maintain enough tears to keep the eye’s surface lubricated.
ORTHO-K /SCLERAL LENSES
Ortho-K is a type of nearsightedness control for kids where they hard lenses overnight to change the shape of the eye. This lens serves as a night time brace. The corneal reshaping will reduce the myopia and allow for daytime freedom form any glasses or contacts.
OCCUPATIONAL & VISUAL FIELD TESTING

Laser eye surgery is a common procedure and is another way to cater to visual impairment. It reshapes the cornea to correct the visual impairment and provides a life without vision corrective aids.
Keratoconus is a rare, progressive disease that affects the cornea, which is the clear, transparent layer at the front of the eye. The cornea is responsible for focusing the light that comes into your eye onto the retina for clear, sharp vision. Keratoconus causes the corneal tissue to thin out and bulge into a cone-like shape which deflects the light entering the eye and distorts vision.

COMPUTER VISION SYNDROME
As a result of prolonged computer use, eye problems associated with the use of these devices is also on an incline. You may be suffering from computer vision syndrome if you spend two or more hours on the screen.

We Are Here for You in the Event of an Eye Emergency. Your vision is your most precious sense, and when it is put at risk it is imperative to act quickly.
At Dr Pink Sidhu and Associates, we will do everything we can to accommodate the same day eye emergency appointments at one of our two locations, but if we are unavailable please proceed to the nearest emergency room. We offer emergency services that require immediate and urgent eye care.
